The opportunity
The Governance and People Committee of the Board of Directors of CCDI is currently seeking applications to join the CCDI Board of Directors. In this capacity, directors will be responsible for oversight of CCDI’s activities, exercising your duty of diligence and care to ensure CCDI achieves its strategic, financial, and operational objectives, while upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
CCDI is currently seeking to add one (1) enthusiastic and experienced individual to join its Board of Directors.
We are actively looking for candidates with non-profit/charity experience with a focus on:
– Public policy and government relations
– Risk management
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability working both at a strategic and senior level with private, public sector or non-profits in those respects fields. The candidate will also possess sound decision making and an understanding of and experience with governance and leadership, particularly with a not-for-profit or charity.
Board members are expected to foster a culture of psychological safety, where diverse perspectives are welcomed and respectful challenge is encouraged, and to demonstrate active accountability through preparation, engagement, and collective ownership of decisions and outcomes.
Together, these expectations support a cohesive, high-performing Board grounded in respect, inclusion, integrity, courage, and a commitment to continuous learning and change.
Term
Initial term of four (4) years, with an option for a second term
Responsibilities
· Provide strategic leadership to the organization, ensuring that the mission, vision and goals are being met
· Review board materials and attend five (5) board meetings, four (4) virtual and one (1) in-person
· Work collaboratively with other directors and the President and CEO
· Serve on one Board committee
· Demonstrate CCDI’s values of change (continuous growth), courage, inclusion, integrity, and respect.
Commitment
Board membership requires a commitment of 65-70 hours per year (including committee membership).
